Photo III Research
For my choice project I wanted to experiment and go for a vintage polaroid look with my photos. I my goal is to learn how to edit them in different styles of "vintage". There's the warmer tones and the cooler ones. I also want to figure out how to make it look like a strip photo from a photo both.
My 10 Ideas
Flower shop for a location
shades of pink and very girly colors for clothing
Golden hour for lighting
another location could be downtown Minnetonka
Different effects with my camera to get lens flares
Many types of edits that are different
Add grain
Add glitter
Add time stamps
Have funn!!
2.) Get closer
“If your photographs aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” - Robert Capa
I agree with this statement. If your pictures aren’t turning out it’s good to change your distance from what you are shooting. The closer you are there are less distractors and more detail!
9.) Don’t crop
I agree and disagree with this one. I think you should wait to crop and make sure you don’t mess up the proportions. If there is something distracting then you should cut it out.
18.) Shoot how you feel
If you portray how you are feeling in photos it makes them a lot more interesting then a very “perfect” feeling photo.
20.) Document your own life
I think it’s important to document your own life as well as other people’s. It can be very fun and also to look back on photos reminds you of memories.
23.) Embrace failure
You can’t really succeed without a little failure. Learning and working with your camera and different editing tools helps you learn.
54.) Forever be an amuture
If you have an open mindset that you can still learn that will benefit you alot and you'll be able to learn more with an open mind.
56.) Don’t force it
If you force your pictures or people that you are taking photos of it wont turn out organic or natural. It's better to just go with the flow.
61.) Shoot in boring places
To really get some photography skills shoot in boring places to learn ways to angle and edit your photos to make them more interesting.
70.) Constantly question yourself
Questioning yourself is important so you can understand what you can do better and improve on.
79.) Expect to be disappointed
You won’t love every image you take or edit so don’t be disappointed if you don’t love how it turned out.
